Cristiano Ronaldo to emulate Man United hero and join LA Galaxy

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave the club and move to MLS side LA Galaxy in 2018, according to various reports.

The former Man United goalscorer has been in sublime form once again for Spanish side Madrid this season, but talks of his future at the club have continued to be at the forefront of his game.

A potential return to the Premier League with United, or rivals Manchester City had been reported in previous times, however, it is understood that the Portuguese international is keen to embark on a spell in US soccer.

According to Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated:  “Ronaldo has now decided the city where he wants to be: Los Angeles.”

“It could be the Galaxy or LAFC, and while talks have yet to take place between Ronaldo and any MLS teams, L.A. is Ronaldo’s preferred destination.

“Meanwhile, I’m told it’s looking more likely every day that LAFC won’t start play until 2018. That means we could see Ronaldo debut for a new team in a new stadium that year.”

Should Ronaldo move to Galaxy, he would emulate a similar career path to that of David Beckham, who left United for Madrid and then moved to the Los Angeles based side.
