Chelsea target Bastian Schweinsteiger set for MLS move

German magazine Kicker claims that Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger could soon be moving to Major League Soccer.

The 30-year-old World Cup winner will see his current deal with the Bavarian club expire in 2016 and reports are now gaining pace that he will move to the United States and embark on a career in the MLS.

Schweinsteiger has been linked with a number of Premier League sides in the past, with both Chelsea and Manchester United extremely keen.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho had infact made contact with his former rival Pep Guardiola about a possible cut-price move this summer, but the midfielder’s desire to move to the US is now making such, seem impossible.

Schweinsteiger has spent his entire professional career up to date with Bayern Munich, making 338 league appearances for the club.
