The agent of Kevin de Bruyne has claimed that Manchester City are closing in on a summer move for the Wolfsburg midfielder.
The Belgian international has been in superb form this season and has gained a name for himself in European football since departing Chelsea on a permanent deal to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg.
Despite his happiness at the club, links to a number of bigger European clubs have been made in recent weeks and his agent, Patrick de Koster has revealed that Man City are edging closer to a summer bid.
“I have met the people from Manchester City and we know each other,” he is quoted as saying by The Guardian. “I’ve never spoken to anyone from Manchester United but a lot of other clubs have been in touch to find out some general information.
“For the moment, there are no formal discussions. Of course in the next few weeks I will be going around the world to talk about the situation with Kevin but this is just informal information. I will talk to everybody but Kevin is very, very happy with Wolfsburg and the way they have treated him since he arrived from Chelsea last year.”
De Bruyne has scored 15 goals in 42 appearances for Wolfsburg so far this season.
