Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini wants to sign Barcelona midfielder Alex Song this summer, according to reports.

The Cameroon midfielder struggled to adapt to life at the Camp Nou following his move from Arsenal in 2012 and was subsequently loaned to West Ham last summer.

Good form and some impressive displays saw his return to English football heralded by many and gained interest from a number of clubs like Liverpool.

However, a change in form and some woeful performances have seen that interest now stall.

Song, recently admitted he was hopeful of a move to Liverpool, however, it is understood that boss Brendan Rodgers will look elsewhere before making a move for the 27-year-old.

Meanwhile, West Ham have no ambitions of making his loan move a permanent one and Barca have told him to find a new club.

That leaves Inter, who are keen with boss Mancini ready to offer the midfielder first team football at the San Siro.
