Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte has been told he can leave the club for £30m, should interested clubs bid that amount.

Manchester City and Manchester United are set to do battle this summer for the French international.

And, Athletic president Jose Urrutia has now revealed that he will only allow Laporte to leave if a £30m bid is received.

“We are pleased that Aymeric is still here and we hope that he will stay at the club for many more years,” he told reporters.

“He is a great player. So far, we don’t have any specific offers for him. Laporte will only leave if he takes the decision and if someone pays his release clause.”

Laporte has made 42 appearances in all competitions in 2014-15.
