Paris Saint Germain are keen to sign PSV Eindhoven youngster Memphis Depay, according to Voetbal International.

Man United boss Louis van Gaal was told recently by a former scout that the Dutch midfielder was a ‘better prospect’ than Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, leading to concrete interest from the Old Trafford outfit.

A whole host of European sides have shown interest in the PSV man this season after he has helped his side top the Eredivisie, sitting a huge 11 points clear of rivals Ajax.

Depay signed a new contract last summer which expires in 2018 but he has since claimed that he would like to further his career and will do so after hopefully winning the Dutch title this season.

Liverpool are now growing extremely keen after learning of United’s interest and are said to be monitoring his future on a daily basis.

And, it is now understood that Ligue 1 side PSG are also ready to make a move after holding initial talks with the Dutch club over his asking price.
