Liverpool star agrees new deal at Anfield

Liverpool star Jordan Henderson has agreed a new long-term deal at Anfield, and could sign the deal later this week, according to talkSPORT.

Liverpool have been quiet with contract negotiations with Henderson, but the midfielder is ready to sign a new five-year deal with the Reds.

It has been reported that progress has been made and the new contract deal will be revealed before the end of the week.

The 24-year-old arrived at Liverpool from former club Sunderland in 2011 and has since become a significant player to Reds boss Brendan Rodgers as the manager looks to replace Steven Gerrard.

The new deal would give Liverpool the boost they need following their FA Cup semi-final exit, while they also face an uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League.

Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool side are currently fifth in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 57 points, tied with Tottenham Hotspur in sixth.
