Manchester United have been reported to launch an offer for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski at the end of the season, according to reports.

The 26-year-old had been linked with a departure from the Bundesliga side last month, and United had been mentioned as one of the possible destinations.

And now according to reports, the Red Devils have put forward an offer to secure his services, with United boss Louis van Gaal keen to do business.

Bayern are likely to not want to lose the Poland international, but United are eager to reach an agreement.

Lewandowski has attracted attention from all over Europe, but it is United that appear to be keen and will be likely pay up a large amount to tempt the German side and land his signature.

Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United side are currently third in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 65 points, one point behind Arsenal in second.
