According to the Daily Star, Newcastle United will make a summer loan bid for Manchester United’s teenage striker James Wilson.

The Magpies have now lost six games in a row after the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, with manager John Carver now with just two wins in 15 games to his name.

The end of the season can’t come soon enough for Magpies fans, who are enduring another dismal season – but there could be hope on the horizon this summer.

A new, long-term manager is expected to be appointed to replace Carver, and surely money will be given to the new man in order to improve the squad at St. James’ Park.

However, a season-long loan move could be in the offing for Newcastle, with the Daily Star reporting that Manchester United youngster Wilson could join the Magpies this summer.

Wilson, 19, has come up through the ranks at United and is seen as one of their hottest prospects, but has found first-team football hard to come by under Louis van Gaal this season – even with injury to Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao’s struggles.

A loan move to aid his development may be the best move to Wilson right now, and with Newcastle desperately needing attacking reinforcements, Wilson could make an impact if he does join the Magpies on loan this summer.
