Liverpool have made a £7.5m loan bid for Chelsea keeper Petr Cech, according to The Sun.

The form and disappointment of Simon Mignolet at Liverpool this season has left boss Brendan Rodgers in desperate need of signing a replacement and his shortlist is said to be down to just two keepers, with Fiorentina’s Neto and Chelsea’s Petr Cech linked.

The latter has been the talk of English press in recent weeks as his future at Stamford Bridge looks set to end, prompted mainly by the impressive form of Thibaut Courtois.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs including Arsenal and Inter Milan, whilst Ray Wilkins made comments earlier this week that the Czech Republic international could be set to join Paris Saint Germain.

However, despite those claims, Liverpool have now submitted a £7.5m loan bid for Cech, which would see him join the Merseyside club for one season only.
