Barcelona remain keen on signing Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and believe they can control his poor behaviour.
Uruguayan Suarez was involved in yet another sour incident which saw him appear to bite the shoulder of Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during their final group game of the World Cup in Brazil.
The incident has seen Suarez dominate the headlines for all the wrong reasons, just one week after he stole the headlines for the right reasons – scoring an impressive brace against England.
Catalan club Barcelona have shown intense interest in signing the striker over the last month with his father in law and close family members stating that a move looked certain.
However, doubts grew after the incident earlier this week, seeing a possible bid from Barcelona to Liverpool look unlikely.
But, a source close to the club has re-affirmed to FEN that a deal is still likely and that the La Liga giants are certain they can work with the striker to control his actions.
“Look at Samuel Eto’o….. When he joined the club, he had temperamental issues and was causing all sorts of problems at Mallorca, but we controlled him and he went on to win two Champions League titles with the club.
“We feel we can do the same with Suarez – despite an awful incident.”
Suarez faces a possible two-year international ban for his actions against Chiellini and is due to lose two of his current sponsors – 888 Poker and Adidas.
