Arsenal and Premier League rivals Tottenham have been reported to be keen on Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley, with both clubs reportedly lining up a deal to sign the midfielder on a free transfer this summer, according to Sky Sports.

It has been reported that both Arsenal and Tottenham are keen on signing the out-of-favour midfielder, who is currently spending his time on loan at Aston Villa, despite Villa wanting to make the loan move a permanent one.

Cleverley doesn’t look to be in Louis van Gaal’s long-term plans at Old Trafford, and other club’s are believed to be looking to swoop him up in the summer, with clubs to the likes of West Ham and Everton also both seen to have interest.

The midfielder has also sparked interest from sides in Spain and Italy, and according to reports, German side Schalke have also put forward an offer for the 25-year-old.

Arsenal are currently second in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 66 points, with Tottenham in seventh on 54 points.
