Chelsea have been joined by Manchester City in considering a summer move for West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell.

West Ham were hoping to hold on to the talented defender through to next season but interest from the Premier League’s big players in Chelsea and City has now seen them look for replacements.

Jose Mourinho is keen to explore a move for the 25-year-old as he looks to replace Filipe Luis, who is fully expected to re-join Atletico Madrid after failing to impress at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, City are ready to overhaul their squad this summer after recent failures which have left them short in the Champions League, domestic cups and Premier League title race.

Cresswell joined Chelsea from Ipswich for just £2m last summer and has become one of the most impressive defenders in the English top flight.
