Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao is wanted to replace Mario Balotelli at Liverpool, according to Sky Sport Italia.

After a string of poor performances for United and a lack of playing time under Louis van Gaal, Falcao is now ready to call time on his career at Old Trafford.

Having signed on a one-year loan deal last summer, the Colombian was fully expected to secure a permanent move to United, but he has failed to live up to their expectations, scoring just four goals.

Super agent Jorge Mendes has recently stated that the former Atletico Madrid striker would join an ‘elite’ club and it is understood that he is now working on a potential move to Liverpool.

Liverpool are growing closer and closer to a potential move with officials from Anfield having made early discussions with Monaco over a loan move.

Juventus are also keen.
