Arsenal are reportedly set to open transfer talks with Napoli over a deal to sign star striker Gonzalo Higuain, according to reports

The Argentina international, who was previously on the verge of joining Arsenal in 2013, is now being reported to be set to quit current club Napoli at the end of the season.

The Gunners have been linked with possible talks over a deal, and now it has been suggested Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has agreed for talks to begin over a possible summer transfer.

Wenger will be looking for more attacking options ahead of next season and will be keen to bring the 27-year-old to the Emirates, and is set to put forward a bid of £28.9m to get the deal completed.

Arsenal are currently second in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 66 points, one point ahead of Manchester United in third.
