Chelsea are considering a summer move for West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell as Filipe Luis looks certain to re-join Atletico Madrid.

Brazilian defender Luis joined the Blues last summer from Atletico Madrid, together with Diego Costa, but while his team-mate has enjoyed a brilliant start to the career in England, the defender has largely struggled to make an impact.

Luis only made a total of 22 Premier League appearances as he continues to play second fiddle to Cesar Azpilicueta, and it appears he is hoping to return to Spanish La Liga.

It is known that that the defender notified his former team-mate and close friend Joao Miranda of his desire to leave Chelsea and a move to Atletico is now expected to go through in June.

The Blues have already begun looking for a replacement and have indicated Hammers full-back Cresswell as a ‘cheap’ and ‘justifiable’ signing.

Cresswell has been in superb form for West Ham this season and has been knocking on the door of England boss Roy Hodgson for a call-up.
