Liverpool look to line up a deal to sign Javier Hernandez from Manchester United at the end of the season, according to reports.

Hernandez is currently spending his time on-loan at Spanish giants Real Madrid and will be returning to Old Trafford in the summer – where he is then expected to be sold.

The 26-year-old has also attracted the attention from other Premier League clubs to the likes of West Ham and Tottenham, but it is reported in Spain that Liverpool are the front runners to land the Mexico international.

Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal will not be wanting to sell to such a rival, but Hernandez doesn’t show signs of a future at United and Liverpool are looking at a price in the region of £14m to secure his signature.

Liverpool are currently fifth in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 54 points, with Manchester United in third on 62 points.
