Manchester United are reportedly in talks with Porto to sign defender Rolando on-loan next season, reports Express.

Rolando is currently spending his time at Anderlecht until the end of the season and has been a long-term target for United in recent years.

United boss Louis van Gaal will be looking to bolster his defensive options in time for next season, and according to reports there have been talks to bring the defender to Old Trafford.

Porto want his wages off their bill and would allow him to move to Old Trafford on a season-long deal, with a view to a permanent switch.

Rolando has 19 caps for his country and is highly famed for his tough tackling on the pitch.

Manchester United are currently third in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 62 points, one point behind Arsenal in second.
