Cadena COPE report that Iker Casillas wants to remain at Real Madrid and his desire is halting any move for Manchester United keeper David de Gea.

The World Cup winning keeper has been going through a hit or miss period with the reigning European champions, prompting a number of reports that this current campaign, could be his last.

Manchester United’s David de Gea has been heavily tipped to join Madrid and replace Casillas, prompting a stall in negotiations over a new deal at Old Trafford.

However, Casillas’ desire to remain at Santiago Bernabeu until his contract expires in 2017 is stopping the La Liga club from making a move.

Madrid do not want to hold on to Casillas, back-up keeper Keylor Navas and sign De Gea as they hope to have the Man United stopper as their first choice option.
