Real Madrid youngster Martin Odegaard has been dropped by the club’s reserves side after failing to show up for training sessions, according to AS.

The Norwegian youngster has been heavily criticised in recent weeks by his team-mates after failing to turn up for training sessions with the Spanish club’s Castilla side, who play in the third-tier of Spanish football.

A number of Castilla players have labelled the young midfielder as having a ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude, a claim of which has now been acted upon by the club’s coaches.

Attacking midfielder Odegaard joined Real Madrid in January for a fee of £2m from Stromgodset after impressing for the Norwegian club side and national side, whom he made his debut with at the age of 15.

Now, 16, Odegaard is being linked with a loan move away from the La Liga club after failing to impress.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is said to be happy and has send scouts to watch the attacker in action this in recent weeks.

Both Manchester United and Liverpool were tracking Odegaard before he signed for the Spanish giants.
