Arsenal defender reveals his desire to end his career with Lille

Arsenal right-back Mathieu Debuchy has revealed that he wants to end his career with his former club Lille, reports Daily Star.

The France international, who arrived at the Gunners last summer, had spent nine-and-a-half seasons with Lille before joining Newcastle United in 2013.

And now Debuchy, who has been spending his time on the sidelines over the last three months due to a shoulder injury, admitted that he wants to return to the Ligue 1 side.

Debuchy told La Voix des Sports: “I still have three and a half years contract at Arsenal, but to finish my career at Lille, that’s my goal.

“I have already said, I would just finish there.

“But we do not know what can happen, that will be for the head of LOSC to decide, which coach, we do not know.

“But it is an important club for me and I would love to finish my career there.”

Arsenal are currently second in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 63 points, one point ahead of Manchester United in third.
