Manchester United are keen to make a £60m bid to win the race for Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani, reports the Daily Star.

Manchester United have been reported to make Cavani a key target for the summer, with Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal looking to replace Robin van Persie.

The striker has also attracted attention from other Premier League clubs to the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal, but it has been suggested United are ready to jump ahead of the competition with a huge £60m bid.

The Red Devils are also willing to offer Cavani a salary of £300,000-a-week to help secure his services.

Manchester United are currently third in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 62 points, one point behind Arsenal in second.
