Napoli boss Rafael Benitez will leave the club this summer after informing his players of his plans to leave.
The former Liverpool boss will see his current deal expire at the end of the season, prompting various links with a return to the Premier League.
Reports on Sunday in English and Italian press claimed that Benitez was expected to be sacked following a poor run of results, but rather than sack the Spanish boss, the Serie A club will allow him to leave in June.
Benitez has been linked with Manchester City, whom are expected to relieve Manuel Pellegrini of his duties at the end of the season, should they fail to win any silverware.
SportMediaSet report that Benitez has informed a number of his players that he will leave the Stadio San Paolo this summer and return to England, where his family still reside.
