Jordan Henderson is holding out for a contract in excess of £100,000-per-week, Football Express News understands.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is facing a tough task to keep hold of England duo Raheem Sterling and Henderson, who have both failed to agree a new and improved contract at the club.

Negotiations continue with Sterling, who is demanding over £100,000 per week to remain at Anfield, whilst vice-captain Henderson has recently rejected a deal worth £80,000 a week.

Chelsea are now considering a summer move for the former Sunderland midfielder and are keen to add him to their already impressive midfield.

England international Henderson has been Liverpool‘s key player this season, standing in for Steven Gerrard, who has suffered with injuries and suspension this year.

Liverpool‘s hopes of qualifying for the Champions League with a top four finish are all but over, following Saturday’s 4-1 at Arsenal.
