Liverpool keen on move for former Everton loan star Gerard Deulofeu

Liverpool are reported to be lining up a shock move to sign Barcelona wonderkid Gerard Deulofeu at the end of the season, according to the Mirror.

Deulofeu is currently spending his time on-loan at Sevilla and is set to return to the Nou Camp in the summer.

However, he was told he wouldn’t get game time at Barcelona – with Luis Suarez’s £75m arrival from Liverpool taking up a forward slot.

And according to reports in Spain Liverpool are looking to complete a deal, with Reds boss Brendan Rodgers interested in bringing the 21-year-old back to England.

Deulofeu impressed with his time at Everton before it was cut short from picking up an injury, where he became a firm favourite at Goodison Park.

Brendan Rodgers will be looking to bolster his attacking options in time for next season and Deulofeu has emerged as a top target.

Liverpool are currently fifth in the Barclays Premier League having accumulated 54 points, one point ahead of Southampton in sixth.
