Chelsea target Mauro Icardi has said he would ‘pack his bag and leave’ Inter Milan if they decide to sell him this summer.

The Italian side may have to sell a number of top players this summer to comply with FIFA’s Financial Fairplay rules, and the Argentine is likely to be one of those, holding a £30m price tag on his shoulders.

Atletico Madrid and Chelsea have been strongly linked with the latter keen to make a summer move and they will now be buoyed by his latest comments regarding his future at the San Siro.

“I still have three years and if we can find an agreement then everyone is going to be happy,” he told CNN.

“If other clubs want me, they have to talk about it with Inter. If the club wants to sell me, I’ll pack my bags and go.

“Otherwise I will stay in Milan as I really like it here and I’m happy. My family feels at home here.”

Despite having a contract with the Serie A side until 2018, Icardi has discussed the potential of a new and improved deal.

“Regarding my pay, my salary, that I don’t ‘earn a lot’, these are things that are a result of two years ago when I came to Inter.

“To me, it was a good contract for having arrived at Inter. I signed the contract with the excitement and desire to prove my worth and be an important player for Inter.

“Now, after two years, I still have this contract that people are talking about, but my agents are speaking to the club, they are coming to an agreement and seeing how to fix this situation.

“When it happens, I will sign the renewal and, I’m sure, I will be happy and Inter will be happy if they want me to stay here.”

The 22-year-old has scored 20 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions this season.
