Wolfsburg keen to sign forgotten Man United striker

Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are keen to make a summer move for Javier Hernandez, Football Express News understands.

The striker is currently on loan with Spanish side Real Madrid but will return to Old Trafford in June.

Having struggled to find first team football at the Santiago Bernabeu, Hernandez is now keen to find a new club, preferring not to prove himself to United boss Louis van Gaal.

The 26-year-old signed for United in 2010 and gained regular playing time under Sir Alex Ferguson, however, his time under boss David Moyes saw him feature less and less, later being deemed surplus to requirements by new boss Louis van Gaal.

The Mexico international discussed his own personal reasons about leaving United last summer and his desire to force a permanent move away from the club.

“They thought I couldn’t help any more at United so we decided by mutual agreement that I would leave,” the Mexican told ESPN.
