Chelsea are ready to submit a £20m bid for Brazilian international Douglas Costa, according to Daily Mirror.
The midfielder has emerged as a summer transfer target for the Blues as he looks to reinforce his attacking options ahead of a Champions League challenge next season.
Boss Jose Mourinho has been heavily keen on Costa and was in awe at his performance for Brazil on Sunday against Chile at the Emirates.
Chelsea attempted two bids in January to lure the Shakhtar midfielder to Stamford Bridge but the Ukrainian club rejected their advances.
However, it is now understood that the Blues will re-submit a fresh bid in the summer transfer window.
Costa has recently spoken of his desire to work with Mourinho, telling GloboEsporte: “To play at Chelsea is a dream for any player, it is standing next to some of the best players in the world and competing with the world’s best as well.
“But really, what catches my eye is the coach. He is a very intelligent coach and has been victorious wherever he went. One of the things that would make me happier to act at Chelsea would be this.”
