What have we learnt from Chelsea this season?

Chelsea have had a very successful season so far under Jose Mourinho and are looking to score the Barclays Premier League title as fast as possible. But is there anything we have learnt from this team over the season?

FATIGUE IS SETTING IN AT STAMFORD BRIDGE

Chelsea were unbeatable at the start of the 14/15 season, going down to Newcastle away 2-1. Chelsea held a slender advantage over Manchester City at the New Years break. Chelsea lost 5-3 away against Tottenham on New Year’s Day, this was a major problem as Chelsea’s defence had been superb all season.

Chelsea played West Ham away in February, winning 1-0 it was not exactly what you would call a “good victory”, Chelsea hardly held the ball for most of the game and when they did were clumsy and gave it up. Could fatigue finally be setting in to the Blues? With the International break finishing up could this be the rest chelsea needed?

CHELSEA DON’T DO ENOUGH TEAM ROTATIONS

Chelsea have kept a consistent team for most of the campaign. The Blues have the formation of 4-2-3-1. Keeping the same players in the starting 11 is key for Mourinho if he wants success, but with 3/4 of the season gone his core players are getting tired.

Mourinho hasn’t been rotating the squad all that often, with League cup games and FA cups games not coming anytime soon there is really no chance for the blues to rotate there squad. Chelsea’s main focus is on winning the premier league. With the likes of Cuadrado, Cech, Remy and Loftus-Cheek all sitting on the bench Chelsea can definitely rely on them to start a few games.

JOSE MOURINHO HATES PRESS CONFERENCES

On numerous occasions this season we have seen Mourinho get in trouble for saying something out of line at press conferences such as ” if I speak about the Matic situation again I will get in big trouble.” Many people have shared there opinion of this over social media and all seem to say the same thing, “Mourinho does this for publicity.” Could it really be working? After all it is putting the Blues in the spotlight.
