Chelsea have emerged as favourites to sign Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale this summer, jumping ahead of Manchester United.

It promises to be an interesting summer for Real Madrid and Welsh wing wizard, Gareth Bale.

The former Tottenham player scored a brace for Wales against Israel yesterday, but has endured a torrid season in Spain and it’s very likely Real Madrid will be willing to do business with prospective suitors.

Bale is believed to have had a £75M buy out clause included in his contract and that has alerted English clubs, Chelsea and Manchester City.

However, Chelsea look to be in pole position to sign Bale as Manchester City are not in the all clear regarding financial fair play and Chelsea’s recent financial activities, most notably the new shirt sponsorship deal with Yokohama worth £200M for five years have put the Blues at a better advantage.

Although, Bale has reiterated his desire to stay in Madrid, it is difficult seeing his current employers reject a bid of £75M.

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich has also given Jose Mourinho the go-ahead to sign the Welshman as Chelsea look to launch a formidable attack on the UEFA champions league next season.

For Chelsea fans, the prospect of having an attacking quartet of Eden Hazard, Oscar, Gareth Bale and Diego Costa is nothing, but tantalising!
