Is Zlatan on his way to Man United?

Zlatan Ibrahimovic could well be on his way to Manchester this summer as Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his attacking options.

It’s no secret that Radamel Falcao’s future at Old Trafford is hanging by a thread. The Colombian has failed to impress for Manchester United this season and seems out of sorts.

With a whopping £42.5million price tag, it’s very unlikely Louis van Gaal will make the move permanent and he’s turned his sights elsewhere.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has emerged as a likely target for the Dutchman – and it may well be the perfect fit. Zlatan is hardly the shy and retiring type, and the pressure of playing for a club like Manchester United will certainly not faze him.

Also, there is one thing you’re guaranteed with Ibra, and that’s goals. He’s scored them all over Europe, in the biggest leagues for the best teams. Though he may not be getting any younger, he’s proved again this season that there’s still plenty left in the tank.

The Swede is capable of scoring all kinds of goals, and he’s equally brilliantly at holding the ball up and bringing those around him into the game – something the likes of Mata and Di Maria will thrive on (if they’re still at United next season).

His current club, Paris Saint-Germain, are somewhat underperforming in Ligue 1 and are certainly not guaranteed Champions League football next season. This is a must for Zlatan, and if PSG fail to qualify, his move away from Paris is certainly much more likely.

Man United fans will also be encouraged by the fact that Zlatan has made is clear throughout his career that he doesn’t stay anywhere long. He relishes new challenges, and with van Gaal making it clear he’s aiming for the title next season, the Swede may well be lured to the North West.
