Arsenal are ready to make a £2.5 million bid for 16-year-old Uruguayan sensation Federico Valverde, according to reports.
The 16-year-old visited the North London club’s training ground and Emirates stadium earlier this month and it is now being reported a deal worth £2.5m is close to being closed.
Valverde currently plays Penarol in Uruguay, and has represented his country at Under-17 level.
The youngster would join the club’s academy if the move is completed and would be given a chance in the League Cup and FA Cup next year by Arsene Wenger.
His current club Penarol are unwilling to allow the youngster to leave, but Arsenal’s advances have seen the midfielder put pressure on the club to sell.
