Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal remains hopeful the club can sign both Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid this summer.
The Metro claims that Dutch boss Van Gaal is doing all he can behind the scenes to discuss a potential summer bid for both Bale and Ronaldo.
The Real Madrid duo have struggled since the turn of the year to re-create the form that helped the Spanish side win the Champions League last season and off-field altercations with fans and jeers on the pitch have seen them linked with a move away.
Ronaldo is reportedly keen to discuss the potential of a move out of the Spanish capital, whilst Bale is no longer happy at the club after another attack, following last Sunday’s El Clasico defeat, in which fans kicked and punched his car.
Whilst, the price of both Bale and Ronaldo combined is said to be over the £150m mark; Van Gaal is confident he can convince Madrid president Florentino Perez to sell the Ballon d’Or holder and Welsh international.
