Liverpool close in on Man United target

Liverpool have moved closer to making a summer move for Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic, Football Express News understands.

According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport, the 24-year-old will end his four year spell with the Italian club this summer in favour of a move to Anfield.

A huge number of top European clubs have been linked with a move for the Bosnian international, namely Paris Saint Germain and Manchester United, who have been keen.

However, with Steven Gerrard set to leave Liverpool this summer for MLS side LA Galaxy, the Premier League side are ready to force through a move for Pjanic.

Pjanic has scored nine goals in 56 appearances for Bosnia since his debut in 2008, and strongly impressed during his time with Roma.
