Manchester United are ready to make an £80m bid for Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, according to The Express.
The Portuguese forward is heavily tipped to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer after a number of problems this season.
Having helped the Spanish side to a Champions League success last season, Ronaldo went on to be crowned the 2014 Ballon d’Or winner but he has since suffered a severe dip in form, having also seen Barcelona’s Lionel Messi eclipse him in terms of scoring and assists.
Fresh off the back of Sunday night’s El Clasico defeat to Barca, Ronaldo could now face a ban after a provocative celebration to the fans inside the Camp Nou.
And, it is being reported that his frustrations are to be taken advantage of by former club Man United, who are keen to make a bid of £80m.
Ronaldo’s potential return would hand boss Louis van Gaal a huge advantage as he prepares his side for a title challenge next season.
