Manchester United midfielder has discussed his recent return to form and stated his desire to remain at the club for a long time.
The former Athletic Bilbao man joined United last summer as Louis van Gaal planned for a new look side, but his poor form and niggling injury problems saw him criticised heavily by the club’s fans and media pundits close to the English game.
However, after a superb run of form recently which also saw him play an important part in United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday, Herrera has discussed his turn around and ambitions for the future.
“I am at Manchester United, the second richest club in the world, who are in a constant search for talent,” Herrera told El Pais.
“And everything takes time because everyone will have their early difficult moments, but now I am playing again.
“However, when I was not playing I kept reminding myself that I am here for the next five years and not just for a few months.”
