Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella has praised Mohamed Salah, claiming that only Barcelona’s Leo Messi is in better form at present.
Salah is currently enjoying a loan spell with the Italian side and has contributed both domestically and in the Europa League, scoring six times in 10 games since his move in February.
The Florence based side have the option to sign the Egyptian on a permanent basis in the summer and Montella has given the clearest indication yet that the club could do just that.
Montella told TV station Mediaset Premium: “For now, we have benefited. We knew the superb characteristics of the player, but we did not expect him to have such an impact on Italian football.
“Perhaps only Messi is faster than him with the ball at one’s feet.”
