Angel di Maria has informed agent Jorge Mendes to force a summer exit from Manchester United, according to various reports.

The Argentina international has failed to establish himself at Old Trafford and has suffered off the field too, with a recent house burglary.

Having signed for a British record fee of £59.7m form Real Madrid last summer, the former Benfica man was widely expected to continue the form that saw him help the Spanish side to a Copa del Rey and Champions League double last season.

However, he has struggled to adapt under boss Louis van Gaal and has come under a wave of criticism, prompting reports that he could leave the club this summer.

And, it is now understood that he and his agent, Mendes, are discussing terms with other clubs, most notably Ligue 1 side Paris Saint Germain.

Di Maria has three goals and eight assists to his name in 20 Premier League appearances.
