Man City open talks with former Chelsea winger De Bruyne

Manchester City have opened talks with the agent of Wolfsburg’s Kevin de Bruyne, according to Het Laatse Nieuws.

The Belgian forward failed to earn a regular starting place at Stamford Bridge during his two-year spell at the club, but has since gone on to become one of the most in-form players in the Bundesliga, helping Wolfsburg to a good league and Europa League campaign.

His performances have gained interest from a number of top European clubs, with both Manchester United and Man City keen and it is the latter who have made moves to sign the 23-year-old.

According to Belgium newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain has opened talks with De Bruyne’s agent and will be in attendance as Wolfsburg play Inter Milan on Thursday night.

Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain are also keen on the youngster, who has netted 15 goals and assisted 21 in 33 games this season.
