Barcelona target moves closer to exit door

Cuadrado

Fiorentina directors will reportedly meet tomorrow to determine the future of coveted midfielder Juan Cuadrado, who is being chased by Juventus and Barcelona.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Serie A outfit’s hierarchy is anxious to thrash out their strategy in preparation for what could turn out to be a bidding war.

The report claims the Viola have softened their stance on the potential departure of the 26-year-old, who has been in excellent form for Colombia at the World Cup, and are ready to cash in on his popularity.

His value is believed to have increased due to his energetic displays on the biggest stage in football, with Fiorentina fully aware that they could make Italian champions Juve and Catalan giants Barca sweat until the closing stages of the summer transfer window.

The latest report reveals that Barca head coach Luis Enrique has the upper-hand in the pursuit of the player and he could be Spain-bound.

While Nou Camp bosses value him at around £20million, Fiorentina are said to be holding out for in excess of £30m.
Cuadrado scored 13 goals in 38 appearances for his club last term while also receiving 12 yellow cards and one red.

He had requested an improved contract to stay at Fiorentina but it appears he is now likely to depart.
