Real Madrid have apparently withdrawn their interest in Manchester United star goalkeeper David De Gea, according to Daily Express.

Spanish side Real Madrid will not bid for David de Gea this summer after River Plate confirmed a loan deal was in place to sign Argentine keeper Augusto Batalla.

Madrid have been long term admirers of the former Atletico Madrid stopper as his contract negotiations with the Old Trafford side continue.

It was expected that the Spanish international would return to the Spanish capital and replace Iker Casillas, who is fully expected to leave the club this summer.

However, the deal for Batalla seems to be a change in their plans.

River Plate president Rodolfo D’Onofrio confirmed that Argentine U20 keeper Batalla will join Madrid on a one-year loan deal next season.

“The contract is still not signed,” said Rodolfo D’Onofrio, “but in June Augusto Batalla will go to Real Madrid for a year, with the option to buy for a high price at the end of that year.”
