Celtic are keen to sign Steven Gerrard on loan in January 2016, according to various reports.
The former England captain will leave Liverpool in the summer to join Los Angeles Galaxy on an 18-month deal.
The MLS season ends over the winter period and Gerrard has been linked with a move back to Anfield, however, SPL side Celtic are reportedly closing in on an agreement.
The Hoops remain confident that Gerrard will join them for a three-month loan deal in January of next year, before he returns to America for a second season.
Liverpool have left the door open for a potential return for their current captain.
