Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola has gone back on previous comments made about his future at Borussia Dortmund, now revealing that he wants to stay at the club.

The 26-year-old joined the Bundesliga giants from Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2013 and firmly established himself as an important member of Jurgen Klopp’s starting eleven.

However, Dortmund have struggled this season and it was reported that the Armenia international had grown unhappy with the situation at Signal Iduna Park.

Linked with a number of clubs in the January transfer window, his agent Mino Raiola has put those interested on alert by confirming his clients wishes to leave Dortmund earlier this year, saying: “Henrikh wants to leave Dortmund at the end of the season,” Raiola was quoted as saying by Bild.

However, Raiola has now said different: “Henrikh is feeling very well at Dortmund.

“We signed a five-year deal with BVB for a reason. The decision to come here for Jurgen Klopp was a deliberate one.

“Even though Miki is not always part of the starting XI, I do not get the feeling that he wants to leave the club. To the contrary, I get the feeling that he wants to achieve some great things with Dortmund.

“But if he no longer fits BVB’s plans, then we can always see what’s best for both parties.”
