Arsenal are on the brink of tying down 19-year-old defender, Hector Bellerin, after his impressive displays this season.

Bellerin’s contract is due to expire in 2017 and Arsene Wenger is keen to keep the youngster in his squad.

The 19 year old has already made 17 appearances for the club this season, scoring against Aston Villa in the 5-0 win last month, establishing himself as a first team player for the Gunners.

The right back has impressed both the club and supporters in replacing the injured Mathieu Debuchy, who despite signing from Newcastle United in the summer; has failed to fight off injury problems.

Bellerin’s new deal is expected to put an end to the debated future of Carl Jenkinson, who is said to be close to joining West Ham United.
