Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has claimed that every defeat in the Premier League at present is labelled as a ‘crisis’.
This season, the North London side have struggled to find consistency as they had hoped to push the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City for the title, however, their recent return to form has seen them back in contention for a Champions League place and potential FA Cup win.
Whilst, Wenger is happy with his side at present, the Frenchman has claimed that the pressure on players nowadays to bounce back from a defeat is huge, due to the fact that every defeat is labelled as a ‘crisis’.
“There is a verdict on everything so that kind of stress has increased and it’s much more difficult to deal with than it was a few years ago,” Wenger told the club’s official website.
“Twenty years ago you could lose a game and people would say, ‘next time Arsenal will play better’. Today you lose a game and it is always a crisis. It’s not easy for the players to deal with that.”
Arsenal will take on West Ham United at home this weekend.
