Sherwood concentrating on football, not crowd violence

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood has insisted that he is concentrating on football and not the recent crowd trouble at Villa Park.

Villa beat West Bromwich Albion last Saturday in the FA Cup quarter-finals but the game saw fans from both sides involved in altercations after a pitch invasion.

Midfielder Fabian Delph was bitten in the trouble, and both clubs are now awaiting the result of an FA investigation into the incident.

When asked about the trouble in today’s press conference, Sherwood said: “It didn’t take the shine off for me and the players. We just concentrate on the football side and other people can deal with the aftermath.

“I haven’t looked into it too much. All I’m concentrating on is focusing the boys on the next one which is Sunderland away.”

Villa will meet the winners of Liverpool or Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup semi-final.
