Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Verratti believes that he and his team-mates are over the moon with their performance against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The Ligue 1 side were forced to play the remainder of the game with 10-men after Zlatan Ibrahimovic was sent off for a late challenge on Oscar on the half-hour mark.

The Blues led twice in the game but a resilient PSG fought back twice to win the game after extra-time on the away goal rule.

“We played almost all this game with ten men on the pitch against a great team, but we have proven we’re one too,” Verratti told Canal +.

“It was an incredible game. We knew that Chelsea were a great team, but so are we. We knew we could win this match. We have shown at Stamford Bridge that we are a great team.

“It was only a round-of-16 game and we still have a long way to go, but to have made it to the quarter-finals again is amazing.”

The quarter-final draw will take place in Nyon on March 20.
