Man United target to replace Pogba at Juventus

Juventus are ready to make a summer move for AC Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong as they prepare for life without Paul Pogba.

The Netherlands international will see his current deal expire with AC Milan in June and he has been granted permission to speak with interested clubs after failing to agree terms over a new deal, leading to initial contract talks with Man United.

The former Man City midfielder spent two and half years at the Etihad stadium and has become a key transfer target for United.

Van Gaal is keen to link De Jong up with international team-mate Daley Blind and offer extra cover for his defence.

However, Juventus have now joined with their interest as they prepare for the sale of Paul Pogba.

The Dutch midfielder is also attracting interest from French side Paris Saint Germain and Spanish side Valencia.
