Wolfsburg boss: Former Chelsea star will NOT join Man United

Wolfsburg head coach Dieter Hecking has insisted that Kevin De Bruyne will not be joining Manchester United in the summer.

De Bruyne left Chelsea last year after failing to establish himself in the first team due to limited opportunities, but he has since made a name for himself at Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, helping them to a current second place.

His performances have warranted interest from a number of top European clubs and one of those is said to be Man United, who have given the assignment of watching the Belgian international on a weekly basis to a club scout.

The German club are said to be keen on keeping the winger as they prepare for a title onslaught next season and they have since slapped a £40m asking price on the 23-year-old’s head.

“Kevin De Bruyne is very happy here. I don’t see him leaving us in the summer,” Hecking told Sky 90.

That follows the signing of Andre Schurrle from Chelsea in a £23m deal, signalling their future ambitions.
