David Luiz has warned his former club Chelsea not to underrate Paris Saint Germain in Wednesday’s last-16 Champions League second leg.

The Brazilian defender who spent three seasons with the Blues will attempt to help his side move to the quarter-final stage on Wednesday evening as the tie stands at 1-1 after the first leg at Parc des Princes almost three weeks ago.

“I know how Jose [Mourinho] will prepare for this, he will be telling the boys to be patient and hit us on the counter attack,” The Mirror quotes Luiz as saying.

“He knows that we need to score and that they don’t, I know that is his way. We must be careful because I know that Chelsea have the ability to hurt on the counter attack, but they must be careful as well.”

Luiz warned his former team-mates not to sit back against PSG or they could be made to pay by attacking trio Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi.

“To sit back and just defend against Zlatan, Cavani and Lavezzi can also be very dangerous, so it is not just us who have to be careful.”
